Search Engine Alternatives

Google search currently dominates the field which is unhealthy. Numerous instances have been flagged where Google tweaks their algorithm effectively locking out prominent sites from front page ranking to page 999. Fair dues to google in that at long last they have removed the "Don't be evil" from its corporate code of conduct. They've now replaced it with "Do the right thing" - for google presumably.

Commentary

From a historical perspective the Don't be evil came about on company start up, when Microsoft was the all dominant tech company and indulged in various uncompetitive practices.
